Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ContractorHelper ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the ContractorHelper software, websites, and services (the "Service"). It also explains the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
ContractorHelper serves home service professionals ("Customers"). We process two kinds of information: information about our Customers, and information about our Customers' own customers ("End Customers," such as the people who submit leads). We process End Customer information on behalf of, and at the direction of, our Customers.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and business profile: your name, email, phone, password (stored only as a salted hash), business name, trade, service area, hours, prices, and settings.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store full card numbers; we receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and limited billing details.
- Support communications: messages you send us.
Information from your connected accounts and lead sources
- Leads and conversations: the messages your lead sources (such as Thumbtack, Angi, HomeAdvisor, or email) send us on your behalf, and the replies drafted or sent, including End Customer name, phone, address, and job details.
- Google account data (if you connect Google): calendar free/busy times, marketplace lead emails in your Gmail, and calendar events we create for jobs you schedule. See Section 3.
- Jobs, approvals, and analytics generated as you use the Service.
Information collected automatically
Basic technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, and log data, used to operate and secure the Service. We do not use advertising trackers.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: read leads, draft and send replies you authorize, schedule jobs, request reviews, and process the features you enable.
- To operate, secure, maintain, debug, and improve the Service.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To communicate with you about your account and support.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it to serve ads.
3. Google user data and Limited Use
If you connect Google, the Service requests only the access needed for the features you use: Google Calendar (to read your free/busy times and to create events for jobs you schedule) and Gmail (to read marketplace lead emails so we can respond to leads). You can review and revoke this access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
ContractorHelper's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of the Service described here.
- We do not transfer or sell Google user data to third parties such as advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
- We do not use Google user data for serving advertising, including retargeting or personalized or interest-based advertising.
- We do not use Google user data to determine credit-worthiness or for lending purposes.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your consent for specific messages, it is necessary for security or to comply with law, or the data is aggregated and used for internal operations in line with the Limited Use requirements.
Google user data is not used to train generalized artificial intelligence models.
4. AI processing
To draft replies, the Service sends the relevant lead and conversation content to the AI provider you configure (by default, Anthropic). These providers process the content to generate a response and, under their terms, do not use business or personal data submitted through their API to train their models. Google user data is not sent to train AI models, consistent with Section 3.
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Anthropic (or the AI provider you configure) | Draft replies |
| Twilio | Send texts and place calls you authorize |
| Stripe | Process subscription and customer payments |
| Calendar and Gmail features you connect | |
| Hosting and infrastructure (e.g., Fly.io, Cloudflare) | Run and secure the Service |
Each provider receives only what its function requires. We may also disclose information to comply with law or legal process, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice as required by law). We do not sell personal information.
6. End Customer information
Lead and conversation data about End Customers (name, phone, address, job description) is processed on behalf of, and at the direction of, the Customer whose business received the lead. We use it to respond to the lead and provide the Service, and we do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train generalized AI models. If you are an End Customer and want your information accessed, corrected, or deleted, please contact the business you reached out to; you may also contact us and we will assist that business.
7. Text messages and calls
When a Customer uses the Service to text or call an End Customer, we process the phone number and message content to deliver it through Twilio. Consent to receive those messages is obtained and managed by the Customer, and opt-out requests are handled as described in our Terms. Message and data rates may apply to recipients.
8. Data retention and deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request export or deletion of your account data by emailing [email protected]; we will complete deletion within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Disconnecting Google or deleting your account removes the associated access tokens.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to appeal a decision about a request. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
California residents
Over the past 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1 (identifiers such as name, email, phone, and address; commercial information; internet activity; and geolocation to the extent a ZIP code is provided), from the sources described in Section 1, for the business purposes described in Section 2. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. You may submit a request using the contact above.
11. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
12. International users
The Service is operated in the United States and intended for use in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you consent to processing in the United States.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. If we change how we use previously collected information in a material way, we will notify you and, where required, obtain your consent. The "Last updated" date shows the current version.
